Self-Aggrandizing, Nature-Hating Jeff Flake Ridicules Kentucky's Gorgeous Daniel Boone National Forest

Here's a June 11 blog post from Page One Kentucky, an informed, savvy take on media and politics in the Bluegrass State:
Jeff Flake: A True Arizona Flake/Idiot

Seriously.

See for yourself:

This week’s egregious earmark: $900,000 for land acquisition at the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky.

“That there earmark ain’t nothin’ but a Boonedoggle,” said Flake.

Really? Criticizing our NATIONAL FORESTS? And the Daniel Boone National Forest especially? One of the single most important economic machines in all of Eastern Kentucky?

This butt cramp needs to go back to the desert posthaste.

Mitch McConnell, Hal Rogers, senile Jim Bunning, Ben Chandler, Geoff Davis, John Yarmuth, Ed Whitfield and Brett Guthrie need to demand an immediate retraction.

Self-aggrandizing Congressman Jeff Flake does little work -- Capitol Hill staffers once voted him the House's leading "showhorse" -- other than to vote no on everything and put out his weekly, unfunny "Egregious Earmarks" dissing projects in states like Kentucky and West Virginia.

We guess he does it because it's easier than the actual heavy lifting of actual legislating for this lazy politician:

Richard Grayson Green Party for Congress AZ-06 Campaign "Vigorously Opposed" by Conservative Republican Local Blogger Telemoonfa

The well-known local East Valley conservative Republican blogger Telemoonfa today has posted a letter to his (or her) readers viciously attacking the congressional candidacy of the Green Party's Richard Grayson in Arizona's Sixth Congressional District, calling him "psychopathic." Here is the opening and the end, but you should read the whole post to understand this commentator's reasons for opposing us:
Dear Readers,

So there’s a psychopathic Green Party guy masquerading as a legitimate politician named Richard Grayson. I wish I could tell you that Richard lives in Hollyweird, or in Communist Cuba, but the truth is, he’s very very close to us...

Oh, that Richard Grayson...I vigorously oppose him!

Sincerely,
Telemoonfa

P.S. Let me ask you a serious question, Richard Grayson. Why are you running for office? I think you’re crazy, and I think your party’s crazy, and I think you have no chance of winning, so I don’t know why you’re running. Why don’t you just become a Democrat and try to make the Democratic Party Greener? That’s the sensible thing to do. (Oh wait, actually the really sensible thing to do would be to become a conservative Republican.)

P.P.S. There's no way I can endorse you, Richard Grayson! You're running against Jeff Smith, and I endorse Jeff Smith!

Apparently Jeff Smith is running against Congressman Jeff Flake in the August 24 Republican primary.

We tried to get a photo of Telemoonfa to illustrate this post, but if you type "Telemoonfa" in the Google image search engine, it shows results for Telemundo. We would rather be opposed by Telemoonfa than Telemundo.

House Passes FHA Reform Act to 'Rebuild the American Dream of Homeownership' 406-4 with Family-Hating Fanatic Jeff Flake Voting No

Today, Arizona's family-hating Congressman Jeff Flake was one of only four U.S. House members to vote against House Resolution (HR) 5074, the FHA Reform Act, to help families realize the dream of homeownership, protect Americans from mortgage fraud and save taxpayers money. The bill passed overwhelmingly by a vote of 406-4, with AZ-06's oddball Jeff Flake, as usual, being one of a tiny minority of weirdo legislators in either party to try to block legislation helping American families.

In addition to strengthening the FHA's capital base by raising mortgage insurance premiums, the bill aims to crack down on FHA-approved lenders. For example, the bill grants FHA the authority to terminate a lender's approval on a national basis due to the performance of regional branches.

The final version of the bill includes "reforms that will rebuild the American dream of homeownership and reduce federal spending by $2.5 billion," House Democrats said in a statement, adding that the bill "protects Americans from mortgage fraud and holds the FHA accountable by improving its internal reporting systems and providing greater transparency to the public and Congress."

Industry groups are already embracing the bill's aims to maintain the availability of financing in the mortgage market. "The reforms contained in this bill will help stabilize FHA's finances by allowing the agency to raise its annual premiums and better take corrective action against lenders who are putting the program at risk," said Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) chairman Robert Story Jr, in an e-mail.

"Importantly, the bill also contains provisions to increase FHA's multifamily loan limits for elevator buildings and in extremely high cost areas," Story added. "One of MBA's top legislative priorities, increasing the multifamily limits in this way will help lenders finance the construction and refurbishment of much-needed affordable rental housing in many urban areas of this country."

Jeff Flake, of course, hates American families and if re-elected, will continue to block all efforts to improve affordability for both homeowners and renters. The laissez-faire free-market fanatic ideologue,

opposed here by 165 of his Republican colleagues, has made no secret of his desire to destroy the American family. Anti-family forces are putting thousands of dollars behind his current campaign for another term in Congress.

Richard Grayson Super-Official State-Certified Candidate for Congress in Green Party Primary in Arizona's Sixth Congressional District

Blog for Arizona's Craig McDermott is reporting

Richard Grayson of Apache Junction has filed as a Green

for the Congressional seat currently held by Republican Jeff Flake in CD6. As no other Green candidates have yet filed for the seat, Grayson needs 221 votes

in August's primary to qualify for the general election ballot (221 is the number of sigs he would have needed to appear on the primary ballot).

A look at the Arizona Secretary of State's listing of all candidates in the August 24 primary confirms this.

Green Party Condemns Israel's Murderous Attack on the Gaza-Bound Freedom Flotilla, Urges Immediate Aid Cutoff and End to Impunity for Israel

As a Green Party candidate for Congress and an American Jew, we are happy to endorse this statement from the Green Party of the United States:
The Green Party of the United States condemns the attack by the Israeli navy on Gaza-bound humanitarian aid ships in international wates near Cyprus, which have left at least 19 human rights activists dead and at least 50 wounded.

"The attacks on the aid boats is a criminal act of piracy and a deliberate provocation," said Dr. Justine McCabe, co-chair of the Green Party's International Committee.

"We demand immediate action from the US, including emergency orders from President Obama to cut off all aid to Israel. The policies of the US regarding Israel and Palestine up to now have convinced Israel that it can act with impunity in committing massacres and massive human violations against Palestinian civilians. These illegal and atrocious actions now include the murder of other countries' citizens in international waters," added Dr. McCabe, who recently returned to the US from Haifa, where she participated in a coalition of over 400 Jewish and Palestinian Israelis and internationals who met to promote the growing call for the one democratic state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Israel had earlier threatened to seize the Freedom Flotilla ships and arrest the activists when they entered Gaza coastal waters, but instead executed a surprise maneuver at night in international waters that resulted in death and mayhem for nonviolent activists attempting to deliver 10,000 tons of supplies to the people of Gaza.

2008 Green presidential nominee Cynthia McKinney has released a statement on the massacre ("Cynthia McKinney Mourns the Dead of the Freedom Flotilla to Gaza: People of the US and the world must end Israeli impunity now!"). Ms. McKinney, a former member of Congress from Georgia, was one of 21 human rights activists on board the Free Gaza relief boat seized by the Israeli navy in international waters when it tried to deliver medical and other humanitarian aid to Gaza in June 2009, in the wake of Israel's invasion of Gaza.

Ms. McKinney and the other activists were held in an Israeli jail for several days.

"The US government's lack of response to the seizing of the Free Gaza boat and jailing of a former member of Congress was interpreted by Israel as a license for even more extreme illegal actions," said Starlene Rankin, co-chair of the Lavender Green Caucus. "We urge all Americans who value justice, human rights, and peace to put pressure on the White House and on their Representatives and Senators to move right now to stop all aid to Israel and seek international condemnation of these acts."

"We also urge Americans to be wary of the justifications for Israel's crimes that will come from politicians, media commentators, AIPAC, and other apologists for Israel. These justifications are meant to cover up atrocities, including yesterday's murderous attack on the Freedom Flotilla," said Ms. Rankin.

As House Votes Contingent Repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," Backwards Jeff Flake Marches the Wrong Way

Yesterday, in a very belated correction of decades of discrimination, the House voted for a contingent repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, finally recognizing that the sexual orientation of American military troops is irrelevant to their ability to serve our country.

Rep. Jeff Flake voted no. As we've seen earlier this week, often when only a handful of Republicans are in the minority, Flake will be with that outlier group. But yesterday he didn't have the courage and good sense of Ron Paul and the other four Republican House members who stood up for decency.

As Sen. Joseph Lieberman, Independent of Connecticut, and a sponsor of the companion Senate bill, noted:

The ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy doesn’t serve the best interests of our military and doesn’t reflect the best values of our country. Bottom line: thousands of service members have been pushed out of the U.S. military not because they were inadequate or bad soldiers, sailors, Marines or airmen but because of their sexual orientation. And that’s not what America is all about.

Of course, out-of-step radical politician Jeff Flake has never understood what America is all about.
